This will be an URBAN hike, thru downtown St.Paul, as defined by BSA and Northern Star Council, and the Historical Trails Program. We will be walking and exploring the L’e Toile Du Nord Historic Trail, it will involve approximately 3.5 miles of relatively level paved paths, Google maps has an estimated 1.25 hours of walk. I estimate with additional stops at the Cathedral, Capital, and other location the total time to complete could be closer to 3 hours.
Plan it to meet at Trondhjem Church 8:45am, on Saturday (August 26th) and travel up to St. Paul, upon completion of hike families are free to explore on there own.
The only expected cost for the event is Parking, which can be found for about $10, and a potential $3 for a self-guide booklet at the Cathedral (which I plan to purchase for the group), other buildings appear to free if we call ahead with a known group size. Parking would be self-pay, any fees for booklets or entrance fees could be covered by Scout Account.
Each Scout/Adult is expected to bring the following:
Good walking shoes
Backpack
Water & Snack, for themselves
Wear either Class A or B uniform
