Camps
Here are some of the camps that Cub Scouts and BSA Scouts in Lonsdale have access to for unit campouts or fully programmed Norther Star day camps, camping weekends, week-long camps, and overnight lock-ins.
Phillippo Scout Camp
Located just 40 minutes away just east of Northfield, we attend the Northern Star Council programmed Polar Camps, Fall Spooky-ree, Summer Camps, and other Day Camps.
Kiwanis Scout Camp
Located on the St Croix River just outside of Stillwater, MN, we caravan to Kiwanis for summer camps where they have Northern Star Council program and a pony barn.
Tomahawk Scout Camp
Once our Scouts reach the summer before 5th grade and start working on earning the Arrow of Light, they attend a special Northern Star Council AOL programmed summer camp in Wisconsin at Tomahawk.
Many Point Scout Camp
A historic camp on Lake Many point near Bemidji, MN. Older Scouts go to this camp annually in the summer for a week long of adventures
Northern Star Base Camp
Located at the Northern Star Council headquarters at Fort Snelling, this indoor facility is great for day camps with many activities such as climbing, shooting sports, and overnight lock-ins
Andersen Scout Camp
A beautiful camp on the Wisconsin side of the St Croix River that our unit goes to for Pack campouts with shooting sports and some of the most scenic hiking around

What rank does my child start at?
Scouts work on the rank matching their age or grade level. There are no prerequisites other than completing the Bobcat patch which can be done at any age.

When does the Pack meet?
- Meetings: 2nd & 3rd Thursdays, Sept–May, 6:30–8:00 PM in Lonsdale
- Year-Round Activities Scheduled By The Open Parents Committee: Special events, service projects, and seasonal campouts
- Summer Fun: Lots of Extra outings and adventures during summer months Even Though there are no regular meetings
- Flexible Participation: Miss a few meetings due to a sport or other activity? No problem—you’ll still get plenty out of the program
Where are meetings held?
- We meet in classrooms and the fellowship room of the Trondhjem Lutheran Church in Lonsdale. Trondhjem Church is located at 7525 Garfield Ave, Lonsdale, MN 55046.
- Membership at Trondhjem is not required to Join the Cub Scouts Pack
- We also attend many campouts at Philippo Scout Camp near Cannon Falls, MN, Camp Kiwanis near Stillwater, MN, and Base Camp near Ft Snelling.
What's it cost?
- Northern Star Scouting charges an annual registration that breaks down to about $18/month, with financial aid available.
- Our pack doesn’t charge Additional dues—fundraising covers routine costs. Families only pay for the camps and activities they choose, often offset by individual fundraising.
- Not into door-to-door fundraising? No problem. We focus on group fundraisers, limited to one month, where scouts learn and grow together.
- Uniform shirts (with patches) are purchased by your family but aren't required on day one. The Pack provides neckerchiefs, slides, rank patches, and belt loops. Uniforms are available at local Scout Shops or online.
What are the requirements?
- Boys and Girls at K-5 grade level age. Youth over age 11 can join the BSA Troop
- No specific school district required, home school families are also welcome.
- An adult buddy is required with the youth at meetings and activities (parent or guardian)
- All should follow the Scout Oath and Scout Law
- Uniforms not required on day one, time is allowed to get a uniform
